Metro: Last Light gets a release date, Looks like Deep Silver will turn a nice profit....
Deep Silver have announced the released date for Metro: Last Light, and it’s May 14th in North America, and May 17th in Europe. This news comes not long after Deep Silver acquired the property, through the THQ auctions.
Deep Silver released the following statements:
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary.” , said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media. “We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”
“Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date. Now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game! We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”, said Menno van der Bil, International Commercial Director, Deep Silver.
With the release of this coming so soon after the acquisition from THQ it looks like Deep Silver will have spent very little to get the game ready as it must have been pretty much finished. It should turn them a nice profit. I'll be grabbing this day one as I loved Metro 2033.

Glad to see this is getting a release. Still have never played 2033 but may give them both a look at some point.

2033 was solid, had a decent story and felt like a diffrent type of shooter.. is really cheap as well now well worth a go.

I recently picked up 2033 in the THQ humble bundle but while my PC will run it, the frame rate is pretty choppy even at a low resolution. Its a game used in a lot of benchmarks on PC so can be pretty demanding when the settings are cranked up.
