Microsoft set to re-reveal "new and improved" Xbox One after "frantic" internal review
Microsoft will ‘reintroduce’ the Xbox One in a live press event that is intended as a fresh start in their relationship with the media and consumers. They will directly address the concerns about the Xbox One and start generating positive momentum in time for the November launch.
After the E3 conference there was a massive and frantic ‘internal review’ of every aspect of the Xbox One compared to Sony’s direction with PlayStation.
The 24 hour check-in and disc-DRM policy was reversed to prevent the negative press becoming so widespread that it damaged the Xbox brand. Every other criticism has also been examined to see if it can be improved. Multiple changes have been made and Microsoft feel confident in a product they know the public will respond well to.
There have been discussions about creating price parity between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 by reducing the Xbox One price to $399/€399. Conversation has centred on bigger losses per unit sold versus loss of sales traction.
Microsoft will make public their plans for Gamescom later this week. It’s expected they will be hosting a showcase event presented by Phil Spencer, the vice president of Microsoft Game Studios and Phil Harrison, the corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment.
A good move by MS imo and it shows that for once MS seem committed to bringing a product that consumers want.

this will be interesting. i wondered if there would be some kinda conference for a relaunch. makes sense too.
i guess the only thing will be how much of the changes will be hardware based and how much software. im gonna guess they will all be the latter, and no one should "hope" for kinect to be removed

I doubt that at this point it would even be feasible to remove Kinect, it's been there as part of the hardware right from the beginning so it's to intrinsic to the console

While it has been there since day one they only need to change the software so the console doesn't look for it. Saying that I can't see them ditching it either.

Would be nice if they changed their design so it doesn't look like a VCR from the 90s

this is interesting i know the kinect wont be gone but since it can be turned off as long as the price drops a fair bit i would 100% buy on release, cant wait to see what is going on now.

Pretty much definitely not going to bother with X1. If its not a PS4 then I will stick with PC
