Driveclub went right back to the drawing board, Set to miss 2014?
IGN speaking to Sony’s Scott Rohde...
“What I will say is that it all comes back to that fundamental principle, and that’s that we want to build great games,” Rohde said.
“And we really don’t want to release a game before it’s ready. And sometimes, this happens in the normal course of business, where we think we’re on track to deliver what we think is going to be a great game, and when we get closer, we realize that we’d be doing everyone a disservice if we shipped it before it was ready.”
“So, I think that at PlayStation, perhaps more than at other places, we’re willing to kinda eat that [cost],” Rohde continued, “and go back to the drawing board and make sure the game is great before we ship it. And that’s what’s going on right now with that game.”
When asked about when it’ll launch, Rohde said, “We’re not announcing any specifics on that yet.” When pressed on if it would still come out sometime in 2014, Rohde refused to say, though Sony PR stepped in to say that we’d get more details soon.

Mate, GT6 is very good. Tom and I were having a few races on it tonight and it was great fun.
This one is a concern for me, it was due to be a launch title and felt very unready at EG. That they are going to be delaying this for effectively at least a year past its planned launch suggests there are major issues with it

This is pretty shocking to be honest. Wonder if it would have been canned UF they hadn't made such a big deal About It already

If it slips for much longer, GT7 will arrive and then this won't get a look in! I can't imagine Sony are happy with this especially seeing as T10/Microsoft were able to get Forza out of the door on launch to give the option of a driving sim to early adopters.....

Well if Drive club is delayed for 10 years then GT7 MIGHT beat it
In all seriousness it does concern me but it seems that after the lackluster previews of the game the devs are at least committed to getting the game right rather than shipping a scrappy game

Oh dear, it did feel a little ropey back at EG but from memory in was in Alpha code so not likely to represent the final product. However, such a long delay, if true sounds like they have gone back to the drawing board and started the game from scratch.

T10 might have got FM5 out the door - but its a shadow of its former self (IE FM4).

Concidering one but the price is a bit steep. If I didn't have the XB1 I'd have the bundle on pre order right now. Driveclub is certainly looking good, better than the cartoony look of Forza Horizon 2, but we'll have to wait and see which plays better :-)

Hopefully the game is as good as it looks. I will try the PS+ version and if I like it I may just upgrade to the full version.

I would say that it will be unrecognisable from last years version. That was just in alpha code and they went back to the drawing board after the game missed the launch window.

News out today on the DLC schedule for this game (taken from EG):
DriveClub will be getting free cars and tracks from its 8th October launch until next June.
Developer Evolution Studios' community manager Jamie Brayshaw explained on the PlayStation Blog that the studio is currently implementing a customisable weather system and Photo Mode due to popular demand.
Evolution also noted that the game currently has 55 routes and 25 tracks, but more free tracks will be added post-launch.
Additionally, the developer is going to add one free car every month from October until June.
Of course, there will be paid DLC too. That's why there's a €24.99 Season Pass, which will give players 60 per cent off buying all the planned DLC a la carte (an estimated €75.84 value). These will run for a full calender year starting in November and will include new packs of cars, tour expansions and challenges.
Ultimately, the free DLC will include nine cars and 11 tracks, while the paid DLC will consist of 38 cars, 176 new events and 80 unique liveries.
I think this is quite encouraging tbh. Its safe to assume most games are going to season passes nowadays but at least they are handing out DLC tracks as part of the free DLC.
I never had a problem shelling out for DLC on Forza in the past but got frustrated at paid for tracks as they generally split the community as not everyone would have them.
