Battlefield Hardline beta PS4

There were three modes to try,Heist,Hotwire and Conquest.

Heist- depending on whether you are cop or crim you had to defend or attack a bank. Small tight map with plenty of routes equalled fast quick gameplay. I found it fun but maybe the game was over too fast,4 rounds in just over 10 minutes. Good for a change of pace.

Hotwire- Not my cup of tea. Find car on map,steal car,drive to location on map. I found it a bit boring tbh.

Conquest- The daddy of BF games.Large map with plenty of routes to get around. My favourite mode.

I'll admit I struggled to enjoy it at first but once I got used to the faster gameplay I started to love it.

Day one for me.

I quite enjoyed it. Played the PC beta a few months ago and the XB1 beta last week.

As a beta it was very stable on the XB1, no game breaking bugs etc, the only problem we encountered was getting everyone into the same game, a few times the game froze at the lobby counter which needed a game reset to rectify but other than it was a good beta as betas go.


Game modes.

Heist - yes the games can be quite quick, over before you knew it on occassions. My only fear for this mode is as people learn the maps they will know the choke points and escape routes which could end up a camp fest for the cops, it started to happen with the beta with snipers on the roof covering the bases.

Hotwire - I must admit I enjoyed this mode, more so than the other modes when playing by myself, hiest and conquest I find better as a squad of friends. Its not a mode you'd want to spend all night playing but for short session its a lot of fun.

Conquest - It's the goto mode for Battlefield. The map didn't feel that big but then again most of the action was concentrated to the centre of the map so didn't get to venture all over the place.

Some things I noticed. You die very easily, only 2 or even 1 hit and you're dead, far easier to die in HL than BF4, I hope they tweak this or the weapon damage. I seem to loose 90% of one on one fire fights due to instadeath.
Snipers, far too many, some games you'd get a deathcam and there'd be a row of 4 or 5 snipers perked on the same high point. I tried the sniper and failed to get a kill so theres obviously a technique to learn but they got annoying as hell.

I'll most likely pick it up, just hope a few XB1er friends pick it up too as BF games are much better as a squad.

Didn't have much of a problem with snipers on CQ,but there were quite a few on the bank roof on Heist. They were easily picking off cops in the car park.

Must add that I was disappointed that I couldn't equip a LMG (although there's a couple dotted around the maps as pickups) but the Battle Rifles more than make up for it.
