EA wants you to let you buy a game for all platforms for one price
Interesting article in the guardian on the way in which EA thinks the games market is going
See it HERE
Quote "In a talk titled Gaming 3.0: Moving the Goalposts he raised the subject of Amazon's Whispersync feature, which allows customers to download a digital book for one price and then read it on whichever format they like from PCs to smartphones and Kindle, without having to pay again for each platform. He suggested that eventually EA Sports may well move toward the same model with its own games, even providing all of its titles, from Fifa and Madden to Tiger Woods PGA Tour golf, for one fixed price on multiple platforms – all linked by the same social gaming ecosystem"
Sounds like a good idea if true, especially if cross platform saved games and mobile compatability come into it - imagine starting a game on your home system then carrying it on through your mobile during the commute to work or something
Having said that EA hasn't got the best record in giving consumers value for money and i can see this being a precursor to a subscription based system "want to play games on all platforms? Sure just sign up to EA's Universal account $4.99/ month (fee does not include game)"

It will be interesting to see how this develops. I know Sony are looking at something similar with their new portable, involving cloud game saving so you can continue your playthrough on either PS3 or Vita. That said, I am sure their system will still involve needing 2 copies of each game to cover the 2 formats.

Steam are allready ahead of the game with this. Purchase a game and if there is a mac version as well you get both. so if you ever decide to seitch Os's then you can stiull play some of your fav games. TF2 says Hello still
