gears dlc delayed

So its already on the disk, you may have already paid for it and the release date was confirmed but according to epic it is delayed

Any idea for how long? Its a shame but I am not going to lose any sleep over it either

I gather it is technical - I wonder if the ability for people who dont have the new maps be able to play with a host who does is causing problems?

Either way, its a horde add on that will be fun but won't cause me a massive amount of frustration - if this happens with the RAAM DLC though, I will be miffed

It depends if you want them for Horde or not

The way I have read that, is the 3 maps available on the 'Horde Command Pack' will only be available for the Horde game mode to those that purchased the map pack. Sounds like all of those maps will be available to all on competitive mulitplayer though.

It does seem a strange decision, and it does to seem to devalue the map pack purchase a little in my opinion.

not sure how it can devalue the horde pack purchase as these maps are currently sitting on your shiny disc already (this has been confirmed) and all they are doing is unlocking them for play for both the horde pack and the versus.

Basically the horde pack gives you some new toys to play with and 250 gamerscore (we are now officially into buying gamerscore points).

Also if you don't buy the horde pack you can still play with it as long as the person hosting has bought it. (this was tweeted by an epic employee, needs confirmation)

Arent the free maps updated ones from previous games? I can't say I am fussed about them being given away as I got the season pass on the premise that having the maps for Horde would allow me to host up lobbies for anyone on here without them having to stump up (unless they wanted to)

It does kinda devalue the map pack purchase, as surely the whole intention to the DLC/Season Pass thing is to give the content to those that paid, while those that havent paid dont get it?

Surely opening up these maps on a free update for versus modes defeats some of the object of paying for them in the first place? I know you can play them in Horde, but if the host has the map pack then surely it devalues it even more. For me I cant see where the incentive is to buy the map pack.
