I tend to let my 9 year old play up to cert 15's provided I have had a go first and checked the content. I let this method slip with Assassins creed 2 and it wasn't until I heard the word vagina in the opening half hour of the game when he was playing that I decied this is perhaps not for him, its a shame that games dont come with an optional "beep" setting cause lets face threre are a hell of a lot of good games rated 15. More parental optins from M$ are welcome with me

No issues there Steve as you know how the gaming land lies and would have a very good idea whats going to be suitable or not. 15 cert games generally arent too bad anyway

My prob is with the parents who take their 10 year old kids into Game, get handed a copy of MW2, look at it really nonplussed, dont give a toss about the 18 cert on the front and buy it for them and the drongo behind the counter at Game not challenging the parent in the slightest - they would have to if alcohol was involved....

I do think that it would help if more games had built in parental controls that bleeped language and toned down or removed gore

i ask kids i work with whether they are gays who play with a ps3 or a real man who have an xbox. its interesting that most of them play mw2 and gears for example. gears freaked me out a wee bit on a few scenes so would imagine that some of them are a wee bity damaged in their heeds now.

looks like a bit of a step back in terms of styling, I like the way the current menu pages slope off into the distance, dont seem to do that on the new one
