heard a couple of guys talking about this last night and then found this.....

This seems to be getting pretty mixed reviews. SP apparently is average at best and the MP is proving repetitive.

That vid isnt very flattering either

I still fancy giving this a go but I am kinda relieved I cancelled my preorder and got Portal 2 instead....

think i'll wait until its been out a bit and see what player reviews say.

Hmmmm, sounds like a bit of a homefront effort all hype and no trousers....

The lag on the multiplayer looks horendous - do you think Bethesda will ever release a game that won't need to be patched within the first 2 weeks to be playable.

Shame, the premise looked good, might still have a look when it gets a bit cheeper

I am not sure that the lag on that vid is representative. I have heard the game servers are UK based and that was an American gamer playing it - now he knows how we feel when we play them on COD4 etc lol

its not just the lag it doesn't really jump out to me
to be fair the guy playing doesn't help
could just be one of those days

Decided to hold off on this, the lag is an issue that needs addressing but it's an odd one as it just randomly happens...you'll get one game thats fine then when it loads the next map it'll be mostly unplayable......

A real shame I was really looking forward to this

will have to leave this for now. just got dreaded email from microsoft, Live is about to expire. will have to get that instead.

Soooo I just couldn't help myself and took the plunge....

It's an odd one this, For me the main reason it seems to have mixed reviews is because this is so different to most games out there....it's a difficult game to grasp initially as it throws a ton of shite your way. With the game being seamless between co-op, solo and competitive its difficult to work through the menus to get the game you want as it can all be very daunting to begin with.

Put some time in though (You will need some patience as it handles completely differently to anything else) and the game starts to show it's true colours, having ran a couple of missions in solo and co-op I can say it is better with friends although the bot AI is probably the most competent I've seen in a game. I am still finding it initially confusing on changing class and working out what each can do (there's optional tutorial vids but no mode) and the controls are odd because of the S.M.A.R.T movement system but it soon feels better.

With practice I can see this game becoming seriously addictive with a huge range to unlock but it's putting the time in and getting all the confusing stuff sorted out first that can be taxing. I'll be sticking with this as the multiplayer looks like it's going to be a real blast.

I have suffered from the dreaded lag in the middle of one match but it looks to be patched in a couple of days.

Overall this is deffo one to try but I would say that because of the huge departure from your typical FPS this isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea.
