Time to cash in Points & Vouchers - GAME considering shutting shop
GAME's directors are reportedly considering cutting the retailer's losses by shutting up shop.
That's according to an Express source, who told the site: "There is a real risk that Game's directors will pull the plug because they can't be sure that the company can survive through the next trading season, and then insolvency becomes inevitable.
"They are in discussions with their legal advisers about whether to shut up shop rather than rack up more losses."
The report follows the news that GAME won't be stocking any EA games in March following last Friday's release of SSX. It's inability to stock Mass Effect 3 could cost the retailer up to £2.5 million in lost profit, according to Singer Capital Markets analyst Mark Photiades.
The Express was also told that GAME's syndicate of lenders, which is led by Royal Bank of Scotland, is running out of patience with the retailer.
"The immediate response from RBS will be to push for more store closures, but the tipping point for the directors and the lending banks will come when the stores don't have products to sell," said a source. "This could happen if more suppliers follow suit."

Its not looking good. I read that Gamestop (US) may be interested in buying them up.
Either way, I would get rid of any prepaid credit you may have with them because if they fold up you won't see a penny of it back - you would be deemed a low priority creditor and at the bottom of the list.

Would deffo get those points and vouchers done now, more suppliers have pulled out from GAME meaning the won't stock EA games + The Last Story, Mario Party 9 or Street Fighter X Tekken.
It's also been reported today that the loss of Mass Effect will lose them upwards of £2 million

Mate I would be careful with that order, You might be better off cancelling the preorder and picking it up in-store with your points

They have the monopoly on games in this town so in store shouldnt be a problem
Re: Time to cash in Points & Vouchers - GAME considering shutting shop
couldnt take the risk cancelled the pre order had £280 worth of credit , keeping my old xbox and blew all the money on a kinect with every game worth having on it, still got £35 left but will burn this on MS points or something for all the downloaded content for kinect sports or something
Re: Time to cash in Points & Vouchers - GAME considering shutting shop
I don't blame you for using the points up matey. I know I would have done the same and spent them up - even if it was to buy stuff I could sell on and turn back into cash

How old is your Bro? I'd suggest a swift kick to the nuts followed by a good old t-bagging before you reclaim the xbox

They have mate - I was close to picking up LA Noire for £8 preowned. There is a lot of stuff on there but whether it is any good or not comes down to personal preference I suppose.
