Does the squads thing mean that we can only have 4 players on our roster??

Yeah maximum 4 on your roster, we have done it so that each clan can enter more than one team if they want to.

Is this a straight knockout tournament or champ league structure?

Straight knockout, all rules/settings etc are on xbcl site.
