All ps4 games playable on vita

Well almost all - the ones that need the camera wont work. But all others will be playable on it apparently.

Good move by Sony although I would say that says alot more about the lackluster Vita sales than it does about the PS4

Good move, the Vita needs the support and it gives current owners of the handheld an incentive.

Only skimmed over it, anyone fancy summarising the highlights? Basically people with Vitas can play PS4 games if they have a PS4 nearby and turned on?

Pretty much mate. Effectively the PS4 will stream the games over Wifi connection to the Vita. The PS4 will do all the work. Looks like this is one of the reasons that Sony acquired Gaikai.

Sounds like a similar set up to remote play on the Wii U - not a bad feature to have if you want to continue gaming while your other half watches crap like X-Factor etc

It is more or less the same as wiiu but as far as I can tell wiiu doesnt always support it. That crazy controller is part of the wii package - so if this is something that doesnt interest you then (like kinect 2 with x-bone) youve no choice.. so your paying for something you dont want

I mean ok the vita aint exactly cheap - and if the ps4 is 399 then thats 560 including a vita. But the wii is 300 - and its more like almost-next gen than next gen. And probly the only good games for it will/art the ninty ones.

I have read a number of arguments where people are suggest the Vita compatibility is being shoved on people and it will potentially run up the costs of developing a game.

The argument does have its merits but I will wait to see how much the games cost first.

It doesnt look like Sony are forcing people to buy a Vita, it sounds at this stage more of an add on than a necessity.

I would like to see them price cut the Vita and do some good bundles with the PS4 when it comes out. It's a great piece of kit and should sell better than it has.

Sony also need to make sure Vita specific games are still being developed rather than leaving it to Indie titles, re-hashed Minis (Velocity Ultra has been excellent though) and ports of console games (this should stop with streaming).

I like the idea of remote play. But would it handle 'MP' or just the 'SP'?.

I dont remember reading about MP capabilities. I think it would work, although likely those streaming a game on Vita would be at a disadvantage from those playing directly on a PS4.

If I am not mistaken (havent tried it), Vita players can jump into the same lobbies at PS3 players on Wipeout 2048/HD.

If they are already supporting online streaming with all titles (from the reveal all games will support letting someone else play your game remotely over the net) then this will surely use the same stuff. And if they have done it right then it wont require any extra support from the devs.

Hopefully they will have learned from the ps3 that if you give the devs the option of adding or enabling something it doesnt happen (EG playing your own music during a game. with 360 the system does all that... with ps3 its not as simple and consumes memory so almost nothing does. Its one of my gripes with the ps3 - I wanna listen to music while I play - since i have the game audio thru the amp I want the music thru there too - xbox lets me - ps3 sometimes does buy usually not)
