Just read that the free version for Plus is more or less a demo. You only get 10 cars and 5 tracks (with 11 variants). You do get full online though so we can still race. ProjectCars looks bloody good too, will be a toss up between the 2.

Ill get em both probly - unless the free rented bit that comes with + sucks.
Dont think they are the same thing - drive club probably more akin to TDU/Forza Horizon and Project Cars Forza/GT. Both good in a different way.

advance warning on this for you guys
eurogamer wrote:Those who test out Sony's upcoming racing game DriveClub for free-ish via its PlayStation Plus edition will be delighted to know that they can purchase the rest of the game's content in a single £42.99 / €49.99 / $49.99 upgrade.
They will be less delighted to know that they'll lose access to all of this content if their PlayStation Plus subscription is no longer in play.
"This [upgrade] will give you access to all five locations, 55 tracks, 50 cars and all 50 tour events, as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription remains active," explained SCEE product manager Chris Brown on the PlayStation Blog.
Of course, you could always simply purchase the full game from a shop or over PSN. However, this won't let you carry over your progress.

So if I read that right, even if you pay to unlock the full game, if your plus sub lapses you won't be able to access the game? If so, that is utter crap.....

This maybe a mistake, they are looking into it, possible Sony U turn incoming. Simply answer is to buy the physical version.

Yup the upgrade path sounds.. well shite. Pay 45 for an upgrade or around the same for retail. I aint supporting that crap - ill buy boxed.
Bottom line here it seems it the free game is essentially a spangly demo for + subbers. Boo hiss.
On the + side (no pun intended) theres going to be another game that month too.

I hope so and they need to get pushed until they do. I agree about buying boxed - just try the plus version first to see if you like it enough to buy and then pick it up before you make any real progress (as it won't carry over from the plus version to a retail copy)

I was under the impression progress does carry over. Which fits in with the buying DLC thing to explain the cost.

Most likely I misread it then as I was under the impression both versions of the game would be treated seperately from each other in terms of progress. Not that it would make sense though.

No surprise and they needed to as well. They will have caught some (deserved) flack for the original policy. If MS had dome the same the internet would have imploded!
