Here's a strange one: If you're expecting a baby on the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim release date then Bethesda vice president Pete Hines offers you a challenge.
For anyone giving birth to a human on November 11 2011, you could be in for an "unknown reward" if you name your spawn "Dovahkiin".
The challenge and reward was announced on the Bethesda blog which, although stating pretty much what we've already said, we want to quote exactly so that you know we're not crazy:
"Pete is throwing down with a casual quest, offering up an unknown reward to any couple adventurous enough to name their 11/11/11-born child 'Dovahkiin'".
Dovahkiin translates to "Dragonborn" according to Skyrim's specially designed language so, while it's an undoubtedly cool name to be given, we can't say it would give your child the best start as far as social integration is concerned.
It seems that Bethesda realises this as well as it presses with the following disclaimer:
"Any reward for completing this quest will not ultimately justify the potential teasing your child could - and probably will - endure over its lifespan."
We'll put this down as a bit of fun then, but how many are tempted by that "unknown reward"?
