bunch of cocks, its a horde upgrade pack - while i am really tempted by this a horde is the shizzle, the anger towards the money grabbers will probably keep me away

Yep, gonna wait for this too. Im hoping that they eventually do something like the All fathers pack on gears 2, that was a frigging bargain!!

what is the DLC exactly? i thought that it was maps and characters am i wrong.

The DLC includes:

3 Maps - Rustlung, Akuze and a remake of Blood Drive from Gears 2
4 new Fortification upgrades (Firepower boosting Command Centre + better versions of Decoy, Sentry & Silverback)
3 new characters (Big Rig Dizzy, Bernie and Onyx Guard)
A pair of weapon skins (Team Plasma & Jungle Camo)

That list doesnt look like bad value but you need to factor in that you can only play PUBLIC Horde on these maps - the only way you can play competitive multiplayer on them at this point in time is to play in private. Something to do with the dedicated servers I think.

The maps will be added to public multiplayer at some point later. And this will be a free upgrade, you wont have to pay for it.

Also as long as the person hosting the gaem has the maps then anyone can play a horde game on these maps as seen in a tweet. So if 1 member buys the DLC pack, then anyone wanting to try out the maps to see if they are good can join them as long as they are hosdting they can play on them.

The 3 maps in question, Azura, Rust Lung and blood drive are allready on your disc, that you bought.

The new horde command centre upgrade in particular would be a very nice addition

surely if the stuff is on the disc and you have bought the disc then you own its contents?

not these days, you dont own the games you buy nowadays. you only pay for a licence to play the games.

This makes this a lot more appealing imo. If i can scrape the points (I want Crysis with the ones I have atm) I will get this as Horde has a lot of legs on this game and is the perfect Friday game

have decided to cave into the corporate overlords and get the season pass. as this is and will be my most played game on the sexbox it appears worthwhile.

I did the same Andy and picked up the season pass last night. It still bugs me somewhat but seeing as it appears the new maps can be used in private if the lobby leader has them then it makes sense to grab the lot

I got the season pass so if anyone, wants to play on the new maps when they are out just message me. I am kind of confused here as on the title screen under campaign it says "coming soon" so does this mean that season pass covers for both multiplayer and campaign or are the money grabbers gonna charge for campaign related stuff, either way where are the achievements going to come from I know 250 from first dlc, so that by microsofts rules means they only have another 500pts to use (max 1750) or are they going to break their own rules as you got achievements for completing campaign levels?????!!!?????

am sure there are other games that have broken these `rules`

I have had a quick look at achievement lists and can't see anything over and above 1750. I seem to recall several years ago though that Microsoft originally set 1500 as the maximum but then Microsoft/Bungie decided on more achievements for Halo 3 and the 1750 cap was introduced. There have been many discrepancies regarding the total amount of achievements that can be awarded in a retail game ranging from 70ish right up to I believe 95 for Red Dead Redemption and all of its related dlc but still doesn't exceed 1750.

There are 99 achievements for The Orange Box, I have 94 of them on my old profile

The 99 cheivos do cover all 5 games though....Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal
