Cavia, The latest victim of the credit crunch.

In an interview with 4gamer, Cavia announced that NieR will be their last ever title as the company will cease to exist following its absorption into AQ Interactive.

Cavia had worked closely with Square Enix in the past, creating titles such as Drakengard, but NieR was arguably its finest work. They had also worked on Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Bullet Witch.

This has been confirmed by AQ Interactive, who are also the parent company of feelplus and Artoon.


While not the the best developer by a longshot it's still a shame to see this their work seemed to hit a stride with Nier which was a fantastic game and a great homage to the mid 90's RPG's.

Never played any of them but given the current economic climate doesnt seem to be improving, this could be the first of many.

Any idea if they had anything in the pipeline/part completed?

They were working on new DLC for Nier but no full games.
