Battlefield 3 problems

Right just got this last week and trying to play a few games to get upto speed but keep getting a black screen of death.

When ever i try to join a server the map loads - it asks if i want to join a squad and the the screen goes black. The music still plays but no buttons work apart from the blades button forcing a quit to dash board.

This has happened the last four times in a row i have tried to play - i have tried installing to HDD but no joy

Any ideas

Did you install the discs before you installed the HD texture pack?

no hd texture pack first.

Been in touch with them on twitter and they say its a known issue and dealing with it.

Have just got a few games in choosing the server - maybe it was a problem with the quick game settings

I have had this a couple of times as well Dave and it seems to just occur at random. Hopefully Dice get it fixed soon as it is very annoying

Not seen this problem.... and I have played this way too much.

Had this happen a couple of times. Just go back to dash and reload. A pain in the arse it may be but its worth it.
