GAME not fulifilling Preorders for ME3, Fifa Street & TW13

It appears that an internal memo within the Game group was leaked decalring that the Game Group (Gamestation included) won't be stocking ME3 amongst other games and have cancelled preorders.

Customers who have preordered are being refunded in full and are being offered £5 on their reward cards as a way of an apology.

This really does sound like the beginning of the end if they are unable to stock titles like ME3 as it is one of the biggest launches of the year and would have been a guarantee for them to shift a lot of copies - add to that they had an exclusivity deal for a LE version of the game, this is a huge dent for Game and more importantly their customers.

Have any of you guys preordered ME3 from Game?

I find this a real shame (Not for GAME, they can burn) for Gamestation as now they're owned by the GAME group PLC they will be dragged down too.

I heard that they are only refunding cash today and after that with gift vouchers (which I question the legality of)

Could be getting the wrong end of the stick though

Gameplay and gamestation have also merged and are now under the gamestation banner

both companies are owned by game. perhaps they shouldnt have bought up different retailers to control the market, then they might not have ended up in this mess.

I agree, i find it hard to see how they compete with online retailers for new games and ebay for second hand

I feel for the low level staff who are forced into pestering you to trade in something before you have purchased it - they just want to earn a living. But Game have so little goodwill with the majority of gamers its untrue. They exist purely to serve mainly uneducated gamers, moms looking to buy 6 year old Johnny his copy of the latest COD and people who are willing to pay a premuim for not having to wait for the postman.

On the other hand, they get utterly panned across the media and by gamers for their preowned policy (which they do flaunt) yet no one seems to bats an eye at CEX who only deal in second hand lol

The big issue with them is price and their lack of consistency - only last week I wanted one of these for my daughters new 3DS:

Ideal for a fiver but not wanting to wait I popped into the local store in Solihull - in store it was £9.99. That is a joke, I know they have the costs of the store etc but but while I was willing to pay more in store for the convenience of getting it there and then, charging double is taking the piss. I popped into HMV and saw the same case for £8 and bought it

I know this is a very nit picky example because a couple of quid is nothing but it was principle in my view and unfortunately, that sums up the 'Game' experience for me.

I assume ME3 will still be available in store? I have a £15 voucher I need to get shot of especially if this is the beginning of the end for them

If it was me Steve, I would look to get rid of that voucher as soon as possible.

I walked in two days ago with £280 worth of credit, grabbed most of the games for kinect and a kinect sensor, staff looked at me in a sort of rage as i walked out their shop with nearly £300 worth of gear and not a pound exchanged had gone into their till.

they are currently being trounced by a new CEX store on preowned and by Tesco/Asda etc on new games, was empty when i went in the other day, HMV was doing well on Mass Effect preorders over the road as all the customers from game/Gamestation went there with the added bonus of a nice mass effect 3 t shirt to go with it.

Just popped in to Game in Solihull and LA Noire for £8 and Brink for £3 (both preowned)

Brink is pants, even for £3 LA Noire though is a top game

Figure for £3 its worth a look - I am not expecting much though tbh.

Picked up MW3 pre-owned for £23 today, mind you thats only to play through Spec Ops and the single player as multiplayer can do one
