Black Ops 2 to debut tonight

Activision's official Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 website has gone live.

As well as confirming a November 13 release date and the game's box art, the site's pre-order page says: "Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare."

The site also links to the first Black Ops 2 trailer on Call of Duty's YouTube channel, but the video is currently private. We imagine that will change once the debut trailer has been aired on US TV tonight.

I can honestly say I don't have much love for the Call Of Duty series anymore.

They are all the same no matter how much they dress it up.

With the release of the Battlefield servers and GRAW coming up its nice to play something different competitive

Completely agree mate, I really disliked MW3 so I'm pretty positive I'll give this a miss until it's cheaper this time around.

It has to have some serious innovation this time around because the apathy around MW3 could have some serious implications if the next Black Ops is a copy and paste job with just a few different killstreaks etc.

BO wasnt that bad in fairness, certainly the best COD since COD4 imo but the formula is starting to wear a bit thin now

I reckon that with the devs having a habit of using more and more recycled material this could just be a re-release of Black Ops

I loved black ops, so will be keeping my eye on this but i hope its not just going to be an amalgamation of MW3 and black ops otherwise i will seriously have to think whether to get this

really loved black ops, the S&D modes are miles ahead of MW3, shame i wont get a chance to play it

SnD was very good on Black Ops, moreso than MW3 mainly because the maps seemed much better suited to the mode

It.'ll be just as shit as mw3 so they can stick it up there arses i'll wait for the new console version.

coincidence that they are going into the near future - isnt there another game out shortly doing the same

Think I will probably pass on this, or at least waits until it drops in price to tear through the sp.

hmm i will be keeping a close eye on on this

to be honest i liked black ops more then mw3 but is still looks no different.
i mean game set in the future but still has the moments where your just watching mass destruction from a pov.one of these developers should just say what the fuck lets just totally change what this game feels plays like and hey if it is not working in a years time just go back to the tried and tested formula.some one will still buy it.

I certainly won't be queueing at midnight to get it thats for sure like I did for MW3

But i can watch Rambo again and again,not cod.

Will leave this until xmas/new year/never. Battlefield 3,GR:FS and next year R6. CoD wont get a look in.

Not for me cod is getn to repetitive for me, got MW3 n never played online as had a go at a mates and thought nope not for me, so prob dodge this like an afghan flip flop lol

Treyarch are saying the multiplayer is getting a "BIG" shake up this year......so some new maps without recycled assets then?

Yeah you did, Along with some zombie mode details it was revealed that during the course of the game choices will be thrown up that dynamically affect progression. Far from being A, B, C choices it turns out that failing any objective (Even ones you make choices on) Will no longer mean "Game Over" instead the mission and the overall narrative arc will shift dynamically.

Along with this Treyarch have also dropped the bomb that levels will be far less linear than before instead opting for more open environments in the same vein as Halo.

Also announced was that some missions (Main or choice) will be known as "Strike Force" scenarios, during these missions the game will shift to a sandbox environment and become more akin with an RTS where you will have control over multiple unit including Black Ops squads, Drones and various other gadgets to reach your objectives.

that sounds abit more interresting will wait on this.more than likely get this but you know pigs might fly

Its activision/blizzard, they use copy and paste on every game they make, look at WoW copy and paste old material again and change it a little!
