More Wii-U details surface.....not sounding quite so appealing now...
A few more details regarding the Wii-U's online platform and Gamepad have emerged post E3...
First up Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has announced that the Wii-U's online system will still require the clunky "Friend Codes" system to add friends and play online, He say's it's been improved but so far (As with everything else technical about the Wii-U) there is little evidence to suggest any improvements.....There's also no evidence of any streaming video services, XBLA style marketplace or infact anything that could come close to rivalling Sony let alone Microsoft....
Secondly Reggie announced that Nintendo will not offer even an optional achievement/trophy system for the Wii-U stating that the Wii-U "Doesn't conform to market trends" That statement in itself is distressing as it means Nintendo are not listening to the gamers and instead trying to decide what people want based on the companies own views....
Lastly the Gamepad is confirmed to have just a resistive touch screen....in other words it has an outdatted and (in touch screen terms) frankly archaic control scheme...no multi touch, no capacitive screen means that you'll be jabbing just one finger into the screen as hard as you can......

Oh well, yet another console manufacturer who won't be appealing to the most 'hardcore' online gamer.
