Borderlands 2 goes gold, DLC production in full swing - pre-order to get first DLC pack free!

Gearbox Software has completed work on Borderlands 2 and the anticipated RPG is now in submission.

That's all very exciting, but the developer isn't standing around, chinking wine glasses and patting itself on the back. Development on post-release download content is now in full swing, it announced today.

A new character class, the Mechromancer, with one of the first DLC treats to come, and will arrive "roughly 60 to 90 days after launch".

If you pre-order Borderlands 2 at a participating retailer before its launch (September 18 in North America and September 21 Internationally), you'll be given Premier Club membership, which gets you the Mechromancer DLC for free.
