A Halo 4 War Games Map Pass will also be available as a standalone option from November 6 priced at 2000 Microsoft Points (£17.13), representing a discount of more than 15 per cent versus purchasing the add-ons individually, according to Microsoft. It'll also include three in-game exclusives - the Spartan-IV Scanner and Strider helmets, and the Falcon in-game emblem.


Money permitting I'd be interested in this as it comes with the "Season pass" Not sure I've ever bought a standard edition of Halo since the first game

Thats a lot of money over a standard edition for purely DLC. SE's in the past at least used to come a useless collectible trinket or 2

As someone who has never really played Halo MP, the specialisation thing kinda concerns me. Taken from EG:

When a player achieves rank 50 as a Spartan, they'll be able to choose one of eight specialisations types - detailed below. Each comes with its own unique armour sets and mods, emblems, weapon skins and visor colours spread across ten ranks.

Wetwork - A stealth class that can move quickly and silently.
Pioneer - Its Fast Track armour mod allows Pioneers to gain more exp from each encounter and level up quicker.
Engineer - Its Drop Recon armour mod lets players know the location and time of ordinance drops via an external suborbital monitoring system.
Tracker - Built for long-range targeting, the Tracker's requisition armour mod allows users to recall their ordnance requests for a chance to receive better weapon drops.
Rogue - Its armour mod allows greater aiming stability when in combat.
Stalker - Its Nemesis armour mod will keep track of all enemies that have attacked or killed you, making their locations known.
Pathfinder - Decreases the time of weapon overheat when sitting in a vehicle's gunner seat and increases Spartan speed while carrying a detached turret.
Operator - The Wheelman armour mod can get extra stamina and durability out of any vehicle they're piloting.


So if I understand this right, once you get to the highest rank you get to unlock even more kit to make you even more powerful? So Halo vets are going to be having a field day with this while noobs like me are just going to be fodder. This puts me off MP straight away. At least prestige in COD strips your kit back and makes you pretty much start from scratch again.

Unless I am missing something.? Any Halo fans here have any thoughts on this that may put my mind at ease??

Armor sets and mods etc are purely visual mate they have no effect on the gameplay

My bad as you've pointed out the mods do have an effect, That could be bad

Also I must add that I am a tad miffed at the lack of trinkets, every LE of Halo since Halo 2 has come with random trinkets, I even plucked for the big ass helmet edition of Halo 3

However for that price you are getting a £17 season pass and The extended Forward Unto Dawn series (Which will no doubt retail on dvd for £12-£15)

The lack of trinkets isnt really an issue because to those who are MP mad on Halo, the LE will be well worth the expense. It just seems to be the way of the back end of this generation that its all about the DLC now
