Friends list's finally getting bigger?

Chalk this up as a rumor for the time being folks, but it’s making the rounds that with the new Xbox 360 dashboard update that is set to release next month will allow users to bust through the cap of 100 friends. A sigh of relief will be heard around the internet, as people will no longer have to be stingy on who they allow on their friends lists. If that wasn’t enough, it’s being said that the cap will be taken straight to 1,000 – thus allowing you to never have to worry about your friends list ever again. Be prepared though, because all those fine folks on Xbox Live who already thump their chests about their high Gamerscores will now do the same about how many friends they have.

I asked Xbox support on Twitter to clarify this and got the reply "We have no information about that at this time" so it looks like something may well be happening....

1000 seems an awful lot.

I think that'll be M$ covering any future consoles etc plus Windows Phone 7 now supports XBL so there will be alot more people getting involved soon.

As long as having those extra people on the lists doesnt cause the bloody thing to crash!

We dont need 1000, we only have 43 members on here

This smacks of a future integration with a social network of some kind and prehaps a move of LIVE from being a purely 360 based gaming experience to a windows (and maybe windows mobile OS) gaming zone

i tunes recently added social networking and we all know how microdosh loves to copy every other fucker,u may have a point there duke

Spotify already do it, I tunes is only catching up with the other music sharers

zune have it as well.
