Gucci making 3D cool?
Just when you thought the ugly, uncomfortable and unfashionable 3D glasses currently out in the market were enough to cause 3D to easily fail, Gucci announces their own take on 3D glasses, making 3D cool again.
The Gucci 3D glasses have “optically correct 6-base curved lenses” with a “high tech multi-layered mirrored coating which allows the wearer to view themselves in a mirror without distortion”. You know you will start to see celebrities rock these, heck don't be surprise to see people wearing these glasses just for the look. The Gucci 3D glasses will be available in December for $225.

Re: Gucci making 3D cool?
I hate wearing Sunglasses so to wear these while sat in my lounge watching tv is never going to happen, i struggle with the concept that SKY and others are trying to tell me that Eastenders in 3D will be in our lounges
I will go to the cinema to watch 3D but i am drawing the line (for the time being) at getting 3D TV

Re: Gucci making 3D cool?
If i had the money (and the expertise) i would be setting up a Prescrption 3-d glasses shop about now.
for me at the moment watchinga 3d film involves either contacts - which i'm not used to and for longer films can be uncomfortable - or putting the 3d glasses over my prescrpition ones - again not comfortable with the added effect of looking like a nob.
IMO (slightly off topic) Microsoft can use the Kinect and the software used by the bloke in this TED video to produce a 3d effect
The sort of logic being that the kinect can tell where your head is and which way its looking without the need for the hacked wii sensors used in the article.
Even if 3d doen't interest you that TED video is well worth a look (as is 95% of other TED videos)

nah mate. different tech. the 2 options you have for home muse is 'a' passive or 'b' active. passive is very slightly inferior to active (a bit like 720 compared to 1080) but the glasses for passive are about a tenner where as the active ones start at about 70 quid.
personally i will wait until gaming is 3D. watching Fat Pat in 3D is a terrifing thought. it's bad enough in HD.

Hasn't it been proven that long period of exposure to 3D is damaging to the eyes?
