Onlive launches in the US today, offers serious value!
As of today, the OnLive MicroConsole and controller gaming system is shipping to those who pre-ordered. A great new bit of news from OnLive is their just announced $9.99/month “PlayPack” flat-rate plan. The PlayPack plan allows gamers unlimited access to more than 40 games in the OnLive service. This is a great deal and offers some serious competition to the other game rental and gaming consoles out there. Some of the games included in the PlayPack service are:
Prince of Persia (Ubisoft)
NBA 2K10 (2K Sports)
Tomb Raider: Underworld (Square-Enix)
F.E.A.R. 2 (Warner Bros)
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. (Ubisoft)
Unreal Tournament 3 (Epic Games)
Vin Diesel Wheelman (Ubisoft)
LEGO Batman (Warner Bros)
Defense Grid Gold (Hidden Path)
Saw (Konami)
World of Goo (2D Boy)
The PlayPack service is now available as a free beta to OnLive MicroConsole owners. So if you pre-ordered, you can expect to have a little over a month of access to the 40+ games at no charge. The beta runs until January 15, 2011, when it becomes a $9.99 a month service and will be available to all OnLive members (including PC and Mac users). More games will be added to the PlayPack library for the official January 15th debut. Beta participants will have the option to continue with the monthly $9.99 PlayPack plan. OnLive is continuing to offer games as a free timed trials, 3 or 5 day rental plans, or Full PlayPass game purchases.
