Sonic 4: Episode 2 details and trailer emerge...

Great news for Sonic fans as our beloved blue hedgehog will return in 2012 with the second episode of Sonic 4. Now we know that some of you were disappointed with its first episode, however, Episode 2 promises to fix all those issues that plagued its predecessor. Therefore, it will come with a new graphics and physics engine, Tails will be playable and Metal Sonic will make a return. Sounds promising, right?

The above features were confirmed in Gamespot’s interview with Digital Brand Manager for SEGA, Ken Balough. According to Ken, SEGA listened to their fans and that’s why there will be massive changes. That’s also why they upgraded their graphics and physics engine, as the previous one had lots of issues and ‘bugs’.

Ken also confirmed that Sonic 4: Episode 2 will be closer to the 2D, old-school Genesis versions of Sonic thanks to this new physics engine, which is a big plus in our books.

PC gamers might also be able to enjoy this title. A while ago, the first episode of Sonic 4 appeared on Steam’s registry. Although SEGA hasn’t confirmed anything yet, it’s pretty obvious that the first episode is coming to the PC. Keep in mind that Steam’s registry was also the source that confirmed the existence of Alan Wake’s PC version. So here is hoping that Episode 2 will find its way on our platform too.
