E3 2012: Predictions for Nintendo's press conference
It's the final day of my predictions for the big three press conferences and today is the turn of Nintendo...
E3 2011 was a pretty big one for the company, Showing off the Wii-U for the first time and crucially sticking strong third party games at the forefront of the consoles marketing. It seemed at the time that hardcore gamers had a glimpse of some hope left in the old dog. Since then however Nintendo have struggled, posting financial losses for the first time in the history of the company it's clear that the Wii is on it's last legs but even more so the 3DS posted less than desirable sales figures, Of the big three Nintendo will have the most crucial conference but with a new console on the way they are also set to have the biggest announcments....
It's almost certain that the price and final release date of the Wii-U will be unvieled along with some other details of the new console, It's also possible that the name is set to change from Wii-U to something completely different.
It's likely we will see that the new console now supports more than one tablet controller.
Launch titles will be announced along with new entries into Nintendo's first party titles, Expect a very strong lean towards third party 'Hardcore' titles this time out.
A slideshow of games also in development will be shown along with a few clips of games due in 2013.
It's also likely that Nintendo will finally embrace the online platform with open arms offering a much stronger interface, There's no doubt that Nintendo have watched both Sony and M$'s online offerings very carefully and it's likely they will pluck the best bits of both as well as adding some new ideas.
It's possible the 3DS will get a price drop and hardware revision to coincide with the Wii-U announcment.
Details of 3DS connectivity with the Wii-U should be announced along with a possible demonstration.
Alot of new titles will also be announced for the 3DS with the possibilty of some new first party titles from Nintendo.
Strong rumors sugest that after all these years Nintendo will finally announce a brand new IP, It's also suggested that a celebrity of some kind will take to the stage to announce this.
Backwards compatibilty should also be detailed with the Wii-U along with the possible announcment that Wii games can be upscaled with the new console.
A redesigned Wii-U tablet will certainly be shown off along with some possibly upgraded specs to both the screen and resolution.
A new Super Smash Bros. Is rumored to be on the cards and will debut during Nintendo's conference.
It's also strongly rumored that reworked SNES games will be heading to the 3DS supporting 3D options.
It's almost certain that the current Wii will also see a price drop.
It's possible that Gamecube games will become downloadable titles for the Wii-U.
It's also strongly rumored that someone from Rockstar will take to the stage to show off GTAV on the Wii-U aswell as a reworked Red Dead Redemption.
That's your lot for the predictions, lets see how many are right come next week

in some ways it seems that we should all go with nintendo as they appear the only big company that dont screw over there customers from time to time.

A solid showing here for Ninty is a little uninspiring, We saw online embraced, new IP's, a stronger emphasis on hardcore, a better controller and most of the other stuff.
However the lack of specs, price and date for Wii-U suggests that it may not launch at the end of this year as expected...
