Promising Pirates of the Carribean RPG canned....
Disney has canned Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned - the RPG previously set for release in 2011.
And if that's not enough bad news for your evening, Disney's also "restructured" Vancouver-based Propaganda Games - which is basically a nicer way of saying it's binned off a ton of staff.
Angela Emery, Disney Interactive Studios' vice president of communication confirmed: "Disney Interactive Studios confirms the cancellation of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned video game which was scheduled to be released in 2011," in a statement to Kotaku.
"As a result of this decision, Disney Interactive Studios completed a restructuring of Propaganda Games, its Vancouver, BC internal studio, affecting one of the studio's two development teams. The studio is still in active production of TRON: Evolution, the video game, which will be released on December 7, 2010 with additional DLC (downloadable content) support following the game's release."
While Emery wouldn't comment on numbers, Kotaku reports that as many as 100 people have been shown the exit door, while a few remaining members of the Pirates team were moved over to help with the finalisation of TRON: Evolution.
It's a shame this has happened the game looked really good basically being a pirates take on Fable and Elder Scrolls.....and Tron just looks mediocre at best....
