Gears of War heading to Kinect?

If you're not overly hyped by Kinect's casual-friendly launch line-up, you'll be pleased to hear that you could soon be using the motion cam to chainsaw bad guys in a new Gears of War game.

According to a 'reliable IGN source', a Kinect Gears of War title is in the works at Epic Games.

The site isn't sure whether it's a brand new Gears experience or an older one retro-fitted to work with the controller-free device.

Microsoft wouldn't offer comment on rumour or speculation, but Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski said on Twitter: "No Kinect in Gears of War 3." Sounds like we're looking at some kind of spin-off.

In October, Gears of War 3 was delayed by a minimum of five months, from next April to autumn 2011.

Epic said the move was "a business decision" and not "a quality issue". Could it have been made to allow time to implement Kinect support?
