Forza horizons2
No exactly a suprise this announcement...
http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/06/02/ign-first-forza-horizon-2-announced
What is a bit of a suprise is that its coming to 360 too. Well ok not that much of a suprise.. why limit your market to 5 million or whatever # of xb1s thatve been sold when it can be 75 million..
Still - a bit of a kick in the teeth for XB one owners in as much as clearly theres going to be some level of restriction there in terms of the game

We won't see a proper next-gen XB1 game until they stop making cross-gen titles. While they are trying to tick all boxes XB1 is nothing more than a 360+.
I do agree, weather is good

Re: Forza horizons2
I actually think this maybe handled differently cross gen wise, with the 360 version continuing to use the heavily modified FM4 engine and the One version bringing something new, the biggest news in there frankly is the inclusion of a full weather system, this is good because Playground games and Turn 10 share their tech so expect full on weather in FM6

Re: Forza horizons2
Well I was kind of right Xbone version will use heavily modified FM5 engine while the 360 version is being developed by a totally separate studio on a different engine

Re: Forza horizons2
Sumo Digital are handling the 360 version - they did a terrific job with Sonic & All Star Racing. I would trust them to do a good job on the 360 version

Re: Forza horizons2
Eurogamer put a preview up today, I haven't been expecting much from this but they really do lavish it with praise:
"Spending a couple of hours exploring Forza Horizon 2's world, where Playground's pliant handling model and eclectic selection of cars make joyous sense of the open roads of the European countryside, it's more than rewarding. Horizon 2 is the worthy successor to racing greats such as Project Gotham Racing 4, and as it goes against Evolution's DriveClub and Ivory Tower's The Crew, it's hard not to see the Xbox One game emerging at the head of the pack."

I'm not surprised, one thing people tend not to realise is that playground games is comprised entirely of the cream of racing dev crop. They have guys who worked on Colin McRae, Dirt, Grid, PGR, Blur, Wipeout, Mpto GP, F1, Destruction Derby, Rollcage.....etc etc

Re: Forza horizons2
I'm still on the fence with this one.
I found it an average and rather unexciting title. But my boy loved it and will no doubt apply pressure for a purchase.

Re: Forza horizons2
The demo is available. Its OK, very arcadey but fun, looks pretty good, but the loading times , every menu has a loading screen, I thought this gen was suppose to do away with "please wait", "please wait", "Loading".
I was intending to pick this up but after the demo I'm having second thoughts, nothing to do with the loading or driving , it just feels like its going to get boring very quickly. I didn't complete the demo and was looking to turn it off. I'll see who gets it and may pick it up if a few have it but at the moment it's slipping down my list.

Re: Forza horizons2
Was thinking about picking it up but I think it will be one of those games where the price drops pretty fast. I will give the demo a whirl but more than likely will just wait for Drive Club on the PS4

Every menu has a loading screen - GT5 did that and it was pretty irritating. (Are M$ running down a checklist of cock things to copy from ps3 ?)
Maybe try this tonight but i've resigned myself to sticking with drive club *maybe* get FH2 when its dead cheap. I had intended to get both cos I thought there was about a month tween the 2 but theres not even a week. Then Project cars a month after... so just wont get played probly.

Is your X1 alright mate? I barely saw a single loading screen and the ones I did see were there for all of about 5 seconds :/
Quite liked the demo, I agree there's the possibility of it getting a little samey after awhile but once I turned the assists off the game felt like an open world PGR with the frankly awesome skills system, still a day one for me....

Re: Forza horizons2
I tried it last night. It got stuck on a loading screen. Had to quit and restart it.
Once I did it felt pretty much like the last horizon. The exception being the race I chose was across country.. which meant going through a lot fields.
Most of these fields had some kinda crop in them so there was much usage of force !

Re: Forza horizons2
The only thing I can think off is that I downloaded to the xbox via Smartglass, when I did get on the xbox later it said it was ready to play......maybe it wasn't fully ready.
