Half Life 3/Episode 3 set to be announced at the 2011 VGA's?

The 2011 VGA's are set to roll this Saturday with at least 11 new titles to be announced (One has alread leaked http://www.lastofus.com/ ) But what of the others? Well one in particular, It seems Half Life 3 could be announced after the rumor mill went into overdrive this week after two significant events...

First up was this:



The picture was taken and tweeted by Chandana Ekanayak, Art Director for Uber Games at an industry works only event, That's not surprising and would certainly fit the Valve way of teasing the world.

Next up was this:



This is a (supposed) screenshot of the Steam Achievements for HL-3, This is less likely to be official as it seems to bare few of Valves previous hallmarks (Solid cheevo backgrounds etc) although again it fits Valves profile of teasing the world.

An announcement is now long overdue and the VGA's would be the last oppurtunity for a big announcement before E3 2012. On the other hand wouldn't an announcement just detract from CS:GO? Who knows.....We will have to wait for Saturday.....

I saw this pic the other day - Valve better not be fucking with us because it is taking far too long to get from Ep2 to HL3/Ep3.

I still havn't actually finished Episode 2....I'm right at the end on that F**KING ANNOYING BIT!!!

Haha, that last section is a bastard - best thing you can do is not fall back unless you absolutely have to and take the fight right out as far as you can - start stashing strider busters all over the place in readiness and take out the hunters first as they are a real distraction.

I can complete that bit but cannot for the life of me get the achievement for doing so without any buildings being levelled

didnt get on with the first 2, didnt finish them either

to be honest need to get my arse in gear and finish these really enjoyed them when i was playing.

Yay! I did get this on my old profile and it was a right bitch. Think I followed a guide on True achievements, can't remember now.

I would really look forward to episode 3, might have to replay the Orange Box again.

More Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Rumors: Valve Voice Actor Working On The Title?


A source of OXM has just "let it slip" that they've recently been recording lines for Half Life 2: Episode 3. Uhh, what?! Valve, of course, has not confirmed (or denied!) that a new Half-Life game is in the works, but since fans of the series have been clamoring for more since Half-Life 2: Episode 2's release in 2007, it wouldn't be too surprising.

The source of course didn't give any insight on the dialogue that he recorded, or what character he was playing. However, since he's recording the dialogue in the first place that might mean that Valve may be close to finishing the game, as dialogue is generally recorded in the later parts of a development cycle. Who knows?

One thing we do know is that Spike's VGAs are scheduled to happen tomorrow night, and a few Valve employees are said to be attending. Perhaps, since this is where quite a lot of games are being unveiled, Half-Life 2: Episode 3 may be making an appearance as well. We can always hope, at least, but as of now nothing has been confirmed by Valve.

not sure what it was. in all fairness there arnt many fps single player games i have enjoyed. rage is probably the exeption.
