Microsoft could be looking to snap up Second Life creator, Linden Labs if a studio Tweet and insider tip off is anything to go by.

Linden Labs' UK office reportedly closed down today and mumblings suggest that the whole company could be up for sale.

A "very reputable individual" still employed by Linden apparently told TechEYE that the company "have been entertaining offers and Microsoft has stepped up with a bid."

This is combined with a Tweet from the Second Life community, saying: "A little birdie told me that Microsoft may have silently offered to buy Linden Lab this week."

Make of it what you will.
