New boner rep system explained

The existing rep system is a bit cock. It essentially a 'has this person played COD' indicator.

If they have they will have shit rep, if they havent itll probly be good or unrated.

Oh FFS, why even bother continuing with the rep system. It'll get abused anyway which way they set it up.

Bullshit. The vast majority of people won't have shitty reps, right? So say that 10% do. Are those 10% going to be kept away from the 90% in all their games? CoD maybe, but imagine playing any other MP game where you only had access to a fraction of the population. It'll be similar to the "search for people near me" settings they had way back, it'll slightly prefer to put someone with a negative rep with others but if there isn't a game available (or another game has a much better connection) then it just won't bother.

Does anyone ever use the existing rep system??

Well it deffo doesnt work currently. Wonder what happens to you if you go in the red zone - perhaps the kinect will start keeping it beady eye on you... oh wait...

Remember when we all picked our "gamer zones" ? How it was going to keep "family" gamers separate from "underground" gamers? How the "pros" would be able to play with likeminded people without trash talking?

Looked at mine last night,first time this year,and 47% of people have put bad rep. The main reason-Unsporting behavior,must all those T-Bags on BF3

I have a down rating for trash talk which is great because I spend 99% of my online gaming time in party.

It's purely because absolutely no one ever gives positive rep. No one plays against someone and thinks "that person was rather good/nice, I should leave positive feedback". But if someone is being annoying then people will mute/avoid. I suspect that's why they're changing the system, now people don't have to give you positive rep, they just have to not give you negative.

I'v got 75% negative rep. I thought i was quite a well behaved and nice gamer
